Traveler Information

Courageous Travels provides individuals with disabilities, ages 18 and older, the opportunity to experience the thrill of traveling to exciting destinations both domestic and abroad. The Travel Team plans every trip to best meet the travelers’ needs. A member of the Travel Team accompanies the travelers on each trip, along with experienced volunteers. Courageous Travels offers the following types of trips:

 

Standard: Trips created for travelers who thrive in a 3:1 or greater ratio. Travelers should be fairly independent with personal care and during meal times as well as able to walk long distances, climb stairs, and sit on the bus for long periods of time.

Assisting: Trips for travelers needing a 2:1 ratio. These travelers typically need minimal to complete assistance with personal care, mobility, and meals. Assisting trips are designed with a more relaxed pace.

Wheeling: Trips for travelers in a 1:1 ratio. These trips typically involve travelers who require complete assistance with personal care, mobility, and meals. Wheeling trips are designed with a more relaxed pace.
